Improving Measurement and Reporting on the Impacts of Federal Science and Technology

The horizontal policy research project governed by a steering committee of representatives from federal departments and agencies will draw implications from recent research, the experience of practitioners, and from original analysis, to suggest how the impact of the science and technology (S&T) performed by the federal government can be better measured and reported, and thereby potentially enhanced over time.

The project is grounded on the premise that federal S&T should express the public interest of Canadians. This includes protecting the health, environment, safety and security of citizens and supporting ideas with commercial potential consistent with the role of government.
